After 12 Year Pro Bono Lawsuit Filed By The Reardon Law Firm, Thames River Apartments Finally Come Down

The Reardon Law Firm is pleased to announce that, with the collaboration of Mayor Michael Passero and the City of New London, the Thames River Apartments are being demolished. This brings an end to a nearly two decades long battle waged by The Reardon Law Firm to bring clean, safe, appropriate housing to the tenants of the high rise complex in New London. In 2006, the firm filed a pro bono class action lawsuit against the Housing Authority and the City as a result of the deplorable conditions in which the residents of the complex were living. That lawsuit resolved after 12 years in 2018 when all of the tenants were provided homes in the community. Today, February 9, 2022, members of the firm, including Attorney Bob Reardon, who took on this fight many years ago, celebrated the occasion in a ceremony at the complex, and were grateful to watch as a bulldozer began the efforts to demolish the buildings that will conclude in May. Thank you to all members of the firm, past and present, who have worked so hard to make this happen. And thank you to the tenants. It was our honor to represent you.
