$1 Million Settlement Reached In Motor Vehicle Collision Case
Attorney Joe Barnes of The Reardon Law Firm has settled a motor vehicle collision case for $1 million. The 42-year-old female Plaintiff had stopped for traffic exiting a local High School when she was rear-ended by a pickup truck hauling landscaping equipment. The collision resulted in serious injury to the Plaintiff, which eventually required her to undergo a C4-5 anterior cervical discectomy and fusion surgery. Unfortunately, as a result of the collision, the Plaintiff was also diagnosed with a chronic pain condition known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in her right arm and shoulder. The truck driver defended the case, arguing that the Plaintiff’s injuries and need for neck surgery were the result of prior motor vehicle accidents that had resulted in the fusion of her C5-6 cervical vertebrae five years earlier. The case settled against the Defendant truck driver and landscaping company for $1 million.
