The Reardon Law Firm is pleased to report the settlement by Attorney Joe Barnes of a medical malpractice birth injury case. The mother brought a lawsuit against the Defendant hospital and her OB/GYN doctors on behalf of her infant son, alleging the Defendants failed to properly care for her and her unborn baby and failed to timely recognize that the baby was in fetal distress. The baby suffered from neurological impairments and deficits. He was hospitalized for 45 days as a result of his deficits at delivery and had to undergo physical therapy, radiological testing and monitoring by specialists to track his developmental delays. He was diagnosed with periventricular leukomalacia with resulting deficits, including delayed motor skills and speech. The case settled for $662,500.
