“A 75-year-old retired college professor from Mystic accused of trying to ram his car into a group of people has opted to take his case to trial rather than plead guilty to a felony charge … Stonington police said they had been called to Masons Island Road for reports that a man had backed into and struck a member of a group of pedestrians. One of the family members in the group, who were walking dogs, had motioned for Hisle to slow down prior to the incident. Police were following Hisle’s BMW convertible when he swerved his car at that same group that had motioned him to slow down, police said … The two victims, along with their attorney Kelly Reardon, attended Hisle’s court appearance on Wednesday. Reardon said the family is seeking compensation for physical and mental injuries sustained in the incident and would likely file a lawsuit if a settlement is not reached.”
